Fifth House Lodge is a retreat for writers located one hour west of Portland in Maine's lake and mountain country. The lodge sits on a high hill with views to the surrounding mountains and countryside. It is a place of extraordinary simplicity, beauty and peace.

Joan Lee Hunter, director of Fifth House Lodge, is a writing coach and teacher offering both personalized writing retreats and group writing workshops throughout the year. Writers work with Joan to identify and release creative blocks, to receive assistance beginning, developing or finishing a writing project, and/or to simply connect more deeply with themselves through writing.

"The writing work that Joan facilitates is deep, powerful and unblinking. . ." Nancy Coleman, Brunswick, ME
